Prison Ministry

Ko’olau Baptist Church members have been visiting one of our local Honolulu prisons weekly, for many years now. Normally, we conduct our meetings in two separate prison cell blocks. The men of the local prison are very appreciative that we volunteer our time to come in to them and bring the Word of God. During the cellblock time we sing songs, we pray for the men, and we open the Word of God and preach for a good 30 minutes. To God’s glory, numerous prisoners, over the years have repented of their sins and received Jesus Christ into their hearts as a result of this ministry.
Read the passage in Matthew where Jesus describes the last judgment (Matthew 25:31-46). To Christians (His sheep) He states, “I was in prison, and ye came unto me.“ (Mt 25:36b). The question to Him is: “when did we see you in prison?” (Mt. 25:39). Jesus responds, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Mt. 25:40b). Friend, if you’re looking to receive a blessing, consider joining us and the men who make up our prison ministry.
