How do I get to Ko'olau Baptist Church?
What can I expect on my first visit?
You can't miss our church campus at the intersection of the Likelike Hwy and the Kahekili Hwy. The main and only entrance is on 45-633 Keneke St. In our parking lot there are convenient parking spaces designated for you, our visitor, to park in. As you approach the main entrance to the church, one of our ushers will meet you and direct you to the right classes and services. They can also answer other questions you may have.
Every Sunday morning at 9:30 we have our Connecting Points Classes (Sunday School) for every age. Ko'olau Baptist Church is a family! These classes are smaller families within the family. Because you are important to God, it is important to us that you find the class that will be a perfect fit for you. In these Sunday School Classes, you will connect with others like yourself for Bible Studies, friendships, and activities. Regardless of your age or background, there is a class for you, and every class has a seat available and waiting for you!
We would be glad if after Sunday School, you could stay and attend our main worship service where you will enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir, ensembles, and soloists. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Woodfin. This service is a little over one hour in length.
Where do I take my Children?
Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for children of every age. At every service there is a safe, clean, and staffed nursery for children under two years old. For the infants, mothers will be contacted by an usher if there is a need for parental assistance. In addition to the nursery, during the morning worship service there is a Keiki Church for children two years old through 5th grade. These are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed by experienced, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make your child's church visit exciting and memorable.
Our campus has a lot of buildings, which to a guest can seem confusing at first. It's not as complicated as it looks, and we would like to help you find the nursery, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our ushers are located at the front of the main entrance of the church and will gladly help direct and even escort you and your children to the right place.
What about my teens?
Our student ministries are broken down into two main divisions: Teens and Jr. High . Within each of these divisions, there are several classes, which are listed under the "Teens" menu above. Most of the teens attend a class for one hour and then a worship service another hour with their parents.
How should I dress?
There is not a formal dress code per se at Ko’olau Baptist Church for our members or guests. Our leaders are trained in many areas including professional dress appropriate for ministry. Our church family as a whole generally dresses in more traditional or nice aloha “Sunday attire;” however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Ko’olau Baptist!
Who is Pastor Skip Woodfin?
Both Pastor and Mrs. Woodfin hail from West Texas. Skip and Dana met at church as teenagers and were married at age 20 in 1984. They attended Arlington Baptist College where Pastor Woodfin graduated in 1985. Later he received his Masters in Theology from Landmark Baptist Seminary. They have three children. No. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace.
